On December 18, 2018, Prof. Wng. Cmd. Dr. Sarawut Sujijorn, director of the Synchrotron Light Research Institute (Public Organization) Thailand, along with Prof. Dr. hab. Stanislaw Kistryn, the vice chancellor of Jagiellonian University, Republic of Poland, the agency of the National Synchrotron Radiation Center , and Prof. Dr. Hans-Henning von Grünberg, the chancellor of Hochschule Niederrhein, University of Applied Sciences, Republic of Germany signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the development of advanced scientific instrument at SOLARIS, Poland.
This MOU signing event will lead to the cooperation in developing the components and software for a synchrotron-based X-ray beamline at SOLARIS, Poland. It is the first time in Thai history that foreign countries have accepted Thai researchers and engineers to create advanced scientific instruments for science in Europe. In addition, the signing of this cooperation also includes knowledge exchange from all 3 agencies to develop personnel in science and technology specializing in the synchrotron light technology.
