On 17th-19th May 2017
At the Synchrotron Light Research Institute (Public Organization)
Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand
X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) is a technique widely used for determining oxidation states, coordination geometry, and local atomic structure of materials. Synchrotron Light Research Institute (SLRI) provides intense and energy tunable X-ray beam for XAS experiments and welcomes scientists from around the world; providing them beamtime and technical assistance in both experimental and analytical aspects.
ASEAN Workshop on XANES Simulation and In-situ XAS Experiment (AWXIXE) will be held during 17th – 19th May, 2017 at the SLRI. The workshop aims to focus on the in-situ XAS experiment and theoretical calculation using FEFF program. The basic of XAS and its applications will be lectured by Dr.Gianluca Ciatto from Soleil Synchrotron, France. The theoretical calculations and tutorials on FEFF will be given by Dr.Tonya Vitova from KIT, Germany.
Participants are requested to bring their own laptops to the workshop. The maximum of 40 participants will be accepted. Limited financial supports are available for young researchers and graduate students, both from ASEAN countries (7 grants) and from Thailand (7 grants).
