SLRI-CERN ASEAN Accelerator School

On August 28 – September 1, 2017

at the Synchrotron Light Research Institute (Public Organization)

Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand


 

         The SLRI-CERN ASEAN Accelerator School will be held during August 28 – September 1, 2017 at the Synchrotron Light Research Institute (SLRI), Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. The school is organized by SLRI, under the Ministry of Science and Technology of Thailand, in collaboration with the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). A series of lectures on accelerator physics and technology will be delivered by experts from Thailand, CERN and other synchrotron facilities around the world.

         The SLRI-CERN ASEAN Accelerator School aims to provide a basic understanding of accelerator physics and technology which is suitable for undergraduate students, graduate students and researchers with a particular interest in accelerator physics. The school is also intended to bring together the experts and potential researchers to develop a regional and cross-regional network in accelerator.

Expected Participants :

- 40 participants from Thailand and other ASEAN countries

Dates :   August 28 – September1, 2017

Venue : Sirindhornwitchothai Building, Synchrotron Light Research Institute (Public Organization), Muang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Thailand

Accommodation :   Surasammanakhan Hotel (located on Suranaree University of Technology Campus), Muang District, Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand                      

Expected Outcomes :        

1. Participants will gain knowledge and understanding of accelerator physics, as well as accelerator technology.

2. Participants will have chance to discuss with the experts and develop a research network in accelerator.
