AWXTM2018

X-ray tomography has emerged as a non-destructive technique for visualizing internal details of opaque samples in three-dimension (3D).  Developed from the clinical CT or CAT scan that is widely used in hospital, Synchrotron-radiation X-ray tomography optimized for research can reach microscopic details and even brings exceptionally higher resolution than CAT scan when using synchrotron radiation light source.  This has made synchrotron-radiation X-ray tomography very useful for frontier research in medical, material, geology, paleontology, and engineering science.

The 1st ASEAN workshop on X-ray tomography during 21-23 August, 2018 aims to introduce and promote the synchrotron-radiation application of X-ray tomography to future users.  During three-day, you will learn the basics of synchrotron-radiation X-ray tomography, and also tutorial sessions covering all operations from collecting data, reconstructing, visualizing, and analysis of CT data. Plus, an opportunity to visit a new facility - XTM beamline for X-ray microtomography at the Synchrotron Light Research Institute (SLRI).

The AWXTM2018 workshop is addressed to graduate students and scientists from ASEAN countries with an interest in applying x-ray tomography in their research. It will offer a fruitful opportunity for researchers to establish collaborations and to share their experiences with the experts in the field.
