Announce ASEAN Workshop on Protein Crystallography (AWPX2018) 

 

Synchrotron Light Research Institute (Public Organization), SLRI, would like to announce the ASEAN Workshop on Protein Crystallography (AWPX 2018), commencing on 30-31 August 2018 at SLRI, Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. This course is intended for researchers and doctoral students in structural biology and aims to provide participants better understanding of the synchrotron based technique in protein crystallography with hand-on experience in structure determination by MAD (Multi-wavelength Anomalous Diffraction) phasing.

 

Lecture session:  

            Lectures will be given by Prof. Dr. Chun-Jung Chen and Dr. Hong-Hsiang Guan from National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center (NSRRC), Taiwan and the participants will be introduced to the BL7.2W: MX by SLRI staff. Structure determination by MAD phasing will be approached using the CCP4 program suite.  All participants are required to bring their own laptops for computer sessions.

 

Registration fee:

• 1,000 Baht for lecturer/researcher and 500 Baht for student (number of participants is limited to 20)
• Financial funding for young scientists from ASEAN countries and also Thailand are available to apply.
