Infrared microspectroscopy is widely used for chemical compound identification. With the high brightness of synchrotron radiation, synchrotron based Infrared microspectroscopy can provide high spatial resolution, good signal to noise ratio and short data acquisition time.  This technique can be used to measure the samples with a high spatial resolution of 10x10 mm2.  Many applications can be applied for this technique such as biomedical science, polymer science, environnemental science etc.

For this year, ASEAN Workshop on Infrared Spectroscopy and Imaging (AWIR2018) will be held during 10-12 July 2018 at SLRI. Submission of applications for the workshop is now available online. The goal of the AWIR2018 workshop is to provide basic and essential knowledge to well understand IR techniques and able to fully apply this technique in research problems. Furthermore, AWIR2018 will bring together national and international experienced synchrotron users of different scientific backgrounds, particularly new users from the neighboring countries of Thailand to promote IR research in ASEAN scientific community.
